- Whilst natural refreshment continued to be at the core of the industry’s momentum throughout 2008, there was a surprising resurgence in carbonates as consumers demanded tasty treats, with volumes rising 1.7% in 2008.

- Promotional activity by brand owners and retailer own label caused chilled not from concentrate juice consumption to blossom.

- Three of the leading soft drinks companies improved their market share, helping to increase the share of the top five players to 65.2%.
