BMC Acquires Tideway in a Move that will Challenge the Industry
Enterprise Management Associates, Oct 2009, Pages: 3
On October, 19, 2009, BMC Software acquired Tideway Systems Limited, an industry leader in application dependency mapping.
Tideway Foundation complements BMC’s Atrium CMDB and its Atrium service management capabilities overall, and strengthens BMC’s support for more federated CMDB or CMS (Configuration Management Systems) solutions. The move, not entirely unexpected, will provide both BMC and Tideway customers with some distinct advantages. It will also challenge industry competitors that have targeted BMC’s CMDB solution for being too service-desk-centric in the past. This impact analysis provides a short assessment of BMC’s Tideway acquisition in tersm of functional values and industry impact.
