Born between 1991 and 1996, today’s teens have grown up in a world vastly different compared to current U.S. adult population. When they were born, the first Bush was finishing up his tenure as President of the United States and Bill Clinton was beginning his, the postage stamp was 25 cents and The Simpson’s and Seinfeld television series debuted. They grew up in a world different than previous generations, never knowing things such as VCRs, video cassette tapes, life before the introduction of caller ID or Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show. So, how has growing up in a technology driven environment shaped their habits and perceptions of technology and electronics products? This study provides information about teens’ current technology lifestyles and a glimpse at what they will likely desire and demand of technology and electronics as future adults.
