This report summarizes the findings of the second wave of AMI’s Q-Pulse survey conducted among small and medium businesses (SMBs) in Australia.

The survey was completed during April/May 2009. These findings are compared to the first wave of Q-Pulse (QP1 2009) and prior AMI survey research (Q4 2008).

The main study objectives include the following:
- Understand the impact of the economic environment on IT purchase decision-making from an SMB perspective.
- Identify IT and telecom-related mindset, attitudes, expectations, purchases and plans from a quarterly perspective as they unfold during 2009.
- Determine shifts in ICT quarterly spending (QoQ) by comparing across major product categories.
- Track changes in buying process and criteria.

AMI utilized the following for this analysis:
- AMI’s most recent Q-Pulse plus the earlier Q-Pulse conducted in Q1 ’09.
- AMI’s Comprehensive Annual study of SMBs—conducted in early Q4 ’08.
- AMI’s Dynamic Global Model
