This report focuses on the IT Security opportunity among North American (US, Canada) small and medium businesses. Findings are based on internal studies conducted by AMI and secondary research including web/internet, industry events & vendor briefings.

Key Coverage Areas Include(but not limited to) the following:
- Executive Summary
- Economic Outlook
- IT Security Market Sizing
- IT Asset Ownership and Management
- Attitudes and Business Priorities
- Decision Making, Information Source
- Usage of IT Security
- Security Brand Usage
- Managed Security Service Adoption

The economy, which had been slowing since the latter part of 2007, suddenly went into a deep freeze in the last few months, following the global credit crisis. This shift in the economic climate has also adversely affected IT spending among North America SMBs. As AMI’s recently concluded Q-Pulse shows, a majority of US SMBs have seen their revenues decline and cash flows restricted, with a significant proportion having also experienced cancellation of sales orders and payments delayed by customers. As a result, 75 - 80% of US SMBs are concerned about the impact the continuing economic crisis will have on their business in the immediate future.
