The Plastic market will record significant changes over the next few years. Over the last five years the plastic products market recorded an annual growth rate of over 19%. The fastest growth rate was recorded for plastics used in construction (excluding pipes) – 34.4% and tubes/pipes/fittings – 22.2%. In Romania there are about 2,600 plastic producers, of which ~170 have a significant contribution in output volume. Almost 15 producers are major companies, most of them being old and “state owned”. As part of this, good managers have bought performance equipment from Germany, Italy, Turkey Korea and Taiwan.
