Crescendo Pushes Application Delivery Controller Envelope

On November 17, 2009, Crescendo Networks announced AppBeat SC (Service Controller) an add-on appliance for their flagship application delivery controller (ADC) AppBeat DC (Delivery Controller). This new AppBeat SC appliance monitors, analyzes, and enables greater control of Web application performance at the transaction level. It enables policies to be set at either the application or user level. Vendors playing in this space include: Cisco, F5, Juniper, Radware, and Citrix.
Analysts believe that this market continues to be marked by ongoing innovation as vendors look to find ways to help customers improve web-based application performance and consolidate application management services onto a single platform.
