BMC Helps Virtual Systems Management Mature

BMC announced in September at VMworld 2009 in San Francisco new capabilities for its Business Service Management (BSM) Platform for Virtualization aimed at giving IT better control over virtual and cloud computing environments.
The “Value Paths,” as BMC calls them, tackle three critical areas – lifecycle management, performance management, and compliance management - that present major challenges for the enterprise as it dives deeper into virtualization. BMC’s new offerings ease the burden IT faces in blending management and security of its physical, virtual and cloud computing environments. The goal is to ensure that organizations that deploy virtualization get to reap the rewards of their investment.
BMC’s aim is to provide IT visibility and control over VMs so that they can be managed, tracked and maintained.
With VMware vCenter and CMDB integration out-of-the-box, this granular approach also ensures high levels of performance to enhance line-of-business satisfaction and support compliance auditing and reporting in a new, more complex, less transparent virtual infrastructure.
