The Slovakia Insurance Report provides industry professionals and strategists, corporate analysts, insurance associations, government departments and regulatory bodies with independent forecasts and competitive intelligence on Slovakia's insurance industry.
This report includes actual data for 2009. On the basis of data made available by the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS) in relation to 2010, it is estimated that total premiums last year amounted to EUR2.32bn. This includes non-life premiums of EUR1.09bn and life premiums of EUR1.23bn.
In 2015, the corresponding figures are forecast to be EUR3.62bn, EUR1.83bn and EUR1.79bn. In terms of the key drivers that underpin these forecasts, it is predicted that non-life penetration will rise from 1.60% of GDP in 2010 to 2.01% by 2015, and that life density will rise from US$291 per capita to US$413 over the same period. BMI’s Insurance Business Environment Rating for Slovakia is 59.6 out of 100.
