Companies in this industry manufacture computer printers, monitors, keyboards, mice, and webcams, as well as ATMs, self-service kiosks, point-of-sale terminals, and biometric readers. Major companies include Hewlett-Packard (US), Canon (Japan), Logitech (Switzerland), NCR (US), and Wincor Nixdorf (Germany).
The global computer peripheral manufacturing industry is concentrated in Asia. Companies in Japan have traditionally dominated the computer printer market, and China, Singapore, and Taiwan host large numbers of both computer peripheral OEMs and contract manufacturers that serve the industry.
The computer peripheral equipment manufacturing industry in the US includes about 650 companies with combined annual revenue of about $10 billion.
