The author has now published a third edition of its study, A Profile of the Russian Paint Industry. The study points to a large decorative paint market in 2009 but a sharp decline within the industrial coatings sector which reflects the economic downturn.
The key driving forces for the future of the Russian paint market will be general economic growth and spending power, which are on the way back. Long-term growth plans are linked to the arrival of the Winter Olympics in the Russian city of Sochi in 2014.
A Profile of the Russian Paint Industry, 3rd Edition, contains a host of up-to-date statistical data including paint production statistics for the first half of 2009, as well as annual and quarterly data through 2006-8. This is complemented by other data covering imports, exports etc as part of an all-round look at paint supplies.
The report includes a five-year market forecast based on estimates of the various paint segment sizes for the year 2009 to 2014. More detailed information on the contents of the report is given on the right.
