Symantec has announced the introduction of the most recent versions of its celebrated Backup and Disaster Recovery (BDR) software packages. NetBackup 7 and Backup Exec 2010 both feature comprehensive deduplication technology and virtual server support for IT infrastructures of all sizes. Backup Exec, which focuses on the small business and mid-market segments, also delivered an integrated archiving option targeted at solving a primary-storage management problem. While NetBackup, which serves larger, more complex enterprises, delivered new replication technologies.
