This research report presents industry shipment volume forecast and recent quarter review of the Chinese mobile phone industry. The report includes shipment volume, and shipment breakdowns by maker, maker origin, system technology, and production location, as well as subscriber base by operator in China. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with mobile operators, key channel players and chipmakers in China. The report finds that in the third quarter of 2009 the industry's mobile phone shipment volume saw both sequential and year-on-year growth for the first time since the third quarter of 2008. The industry's year-on-year growth in the third quarter of 2009 was anticipated to continue into the fourth quarter. The industry, however, was expected to see a slight sequential decline in the fourth quarter of 2009 and is anticipated to suffer further decline in the first quarter of 2010.
