'Making the Case for Sustainable Business' Overview
Many business leaders realize that environmental and social concerns are of some importance, but not at the expense of company value or stakeholder returns. Surprisingly, many companies are discovering that they can enhance their competitive positioning and performance by behaving more responsibly.
In this web conference, Bob Willard, author of The Sustainability Advantage and The Next Sustainability Wave, details how companies can reposition smart sustainability strategies as a means to achieve existing corporate financial goals. Dr. Willard describes the business case for integrating sustainability strategies to help increase your company’s value. You will also learn how market forces can jeopardize your company’s reputational value if you fail to be more environmentally and socially responsible, and how to quantify the potential bottom-line benefits of operating more sustainably, even in an economic recession.
By the end of the presentation, you will be equipped to:
1. Explain how executives can increase the value and success of the company by integrating sustainability strategies with business strategies 2. Identify awakened market forces that could jeopardize companies' intangible / non-financial value if they fail to be more environmentally and socially responsible 3. Quantify seven potential financial bottom-line benefits of committing to sustainability strategies and behaviors, using Excel spreadsheets that are provided with purchase
Who will benefit from this presentation?
- Employees interested in sustainability at any size company - Senior management committed to, or curious about, the opportunities that sustainability initiatives can offer - Staff and management of non-profits working in partnership with corporations to improve environmental performance - Staff from public sector agencies working with corporations and/or pursuing entrepreneurial innovations to take more sustainable practices to scale
