The objective for this analysis is to provide an objective assessment of all four firms as a tool for MPS decision maker firms when evaluating potential assessment firms. Every attempt has been made to conduct an objective evaluation of the companies included in this report.

Firms are increasingly looking to Managed Print Services (MPS) as a way to bring hardcopy (printer, copier, MFP, and fax) fleets under control, to increase IT staff productivity by moving fleet management and deployment responsibilities to outside vendors, and to obtain significant environmental benefits by ‘right sizing’ the fleet and optimizing deployment. One of the critical issues for many potential MPS customers is the level of objectivity associated with the assessments provided by hard copy equipment vendors and dealers. For those customers who are seeking a fleet assessment which is truly vendor agnostic, the trend is to turn to external consultants for the assessment.

For decision makers who are responsible for selecting an MPS vendor, this is a key decision. By its very nature, an MPS engagement is a long-term engagement which may last up to four years. It is also an engagement which impacts almost every aspect of the organization. As such, selecting the right independent print assessment vendor is very important. Independent assessment firms have appeal for several reasons including:

1.Vendor agnostic approach to assessments

2.Proficiency and professionalism due to focus.

3.Experience, Experience, and Experience.

In this report we provide an overview of four companies – the Print Operations Group, NewField IT, All Associates Group, and Print Assess. All of the companies are privately held, and as such, data relating to revenues, number of personnel, etc. are all vendor reported. The information used to develop this report includes interviews of the respective firms, customer interviews, and secondary interviews. As an overview of the four companies, we have provided a summary of several of the more important attributes of each company.
