The Construction Materials Market Data & Forecast - USA to 2014 report is the essential source for Construction Materials data and analysis covering the US at a top level as well as providing a category breakdown.

The report provides historical data and forecasts for the US Construction Materials industry in the period 2004-2014, as well as profiles of the leading market players, including key facts and a detailed business description.

Asphalt in the US is primarily used for road construction, accounting for 90% of the manufactured product, with the rest going for roofing products. Most of the demand for this product comes from federal, state, and local governments. However, the high prices for asphalt and environmental concerns are likely to make it replaceable by concrete paving. Prices for asphalt have almost doubled over the last five years and since the start of recession they have increased by 30%. Cement consumption in the US declined 30% in the first six months of 2009, flowing double digit declines in both 2007 and 2008. However, according to Portland Cement Association’s (PCA's) chief economist, Ed Sullivan, the industry is expected to have bottomed out by mid-2009 and consumption is likely to revive in the coming months.
