A whole new ‘callgame’ As one of the pillars for economic growth, Egypt’s telecom sector posted the second highest YoY growth of 13.5% in 1QFY09/10 (vs. 13.4% YoY in 4QFY08/09). Telecom is a versatile sector, which encompasses three main segments, namely mobile, fixed line, and internet—differentiated by unique characteristics. Nevertheless, technolgical convergence is bringing these segments closer, while aggressive price competition is pushing operators to explore new revenue streams.
