Vehicle sales in the ASEAN region’s six largest markets fell by 10.2% in 2009 to just under 1.9m units, from 2.1m units in 2008, with a sharp fall in the first half of the year partially offset by a strong second-half rebound. With that rebound, consumer and business sentiment has improved markedly, with two ASEAN markets finishing 2009 positively.
