EMC Launches Ionix Service Manager v9 Preps for VMware Changes
Enterprise Management Associates, March 2010, Pages: 3
EMC Ionix Service Manager version 9 is available to the market as of March, 2010. The team has been busy developing and packaging significant new functionality into this release. Capabilities stretch across service quality and availability as well as support for next-generation asset management (NGAM) putting IT asset management in a broader financial and service management context. Software asset management (SAM) was also a priority. At the same time, the EMC Ionix Service Manager team is expected to move to VMware during the next quarter. This organizational change will come with its own product strategy news. This announcement underscores the likelihood of a continued focus on the requirements and product capabilities related to service management both more broadly, and in context more specifically with virtualized and cloud domains.
EMA research supports the growing need for effective service management in these environments.
