1. MIS companies have established more than 700,000 ha (1.7 million acres) of tree plantations in Australia in the last decade. 2. Three companies have been placed in administration/receivership in 2008-2009 3. International investment opportunities may arise from failed, and from existing companies 4. MIS forest plantation companies have planted huge areas of the 'ice cream' of pulpwood crops (Tasmanian Blue Gum), and have pioneered domestic and exotic sawlog-veneer-fragrance oil-biomass crops such as Sydney Blue Gum, Dunn's White Gum, Teak, African and Red Mahogany, Indian and Australian Sandalwood, She and Silky Oak and Paulownia.
