Frozen v Chilled Foods - A European Perspective
Leatherhead Food International, April 2010, Pages: 133
Competition between the frozen and chilled foods markets remains strong in many parts of Western Europe. Within sectors such as ready meals and pizza, the frozen market has experienced something of a revival in recent years, owing to greater emphasis on quality by leading manufacturers, plus the fact that increasingly price-conscious consumers recognise the value for money that frozen foods offer in times of economic hardship. As a result, growth has started to level off across many parts of the chilled foods industry. However, consumer research carried out in the UK indicates that for large sections of the population at least, quality and choice is still believed to be much higher for chilled foods compared with frozen.
Frozen v Chilled Foods – A European Perspective is a new publication that contrasts the performance between frozen and chilled foods in Western Europe for product sectors such as ready meals, pizza, coated foods and savoury bakery products. Besides offering market size and segmentation data for the leading countries of Western Europe, the report also discusses the competitive situation and examines trends in new product activity.
