The report comprises a comprehensive overview and discussion of the most important trends in investing in the ICT industry in the SME sector, with a key focus on software and IT services solutions, telecommunications and IT infrastructure. The report analyses both the supply and the demand sides of the market.
The main source of data for the report was a survey conducted by PMR Research among 800 companies from the SME sector in Poland with the following business profiles:

- retail and wholesale trade, and distribution,

- hotels, restaurants, catering.
Respondents were persons responsible for selecting and purchasing new products, technologies and development of IT systems in the researched enterprises. In addition, in-depth interviews were conducted to gather input for the report, with select suppliers of software and ICT services in Poland about their offering directed specifically to the SME sector in Poland. The report also includes estimates and forecasts prepared by PMR’s research and analysis team.
The research looks at around a dozen types of software: office, anti-virus, document flow management, ERP, CRM, BI, finance and accounting, HR and payroll, SCM, database, and CMS.
Within the main software categories, the report provides the following listings:
- market saturation,
- market shares of individual manufacturers,
- number of companies planning to implement or purchase defined type of solutions in 2010 and 2011, and development forecasts,
- maturity of existing implementations,
- analysis by business profile.
The research also contains information about the firm’s information system and infrastructure, including:
