Computer-aided Design (CAD) software uses computers and computing tools to design objects. Such software are used to design architectural, engineering, electronics, roadways etc. These designs may be two dimensional (2D) or three dimensional (3D), as per requirements. The software enables easy viewing of the designed object from different angles; and provides information on materials, tolerances, processes etc. Computer-aided Design software is used majorly for designing objects by manufacturing companies. The software is being used to form digital prototyping in contrast to physical prototyping, as the former saves time and resources. This software is also used to produce special effects through computer animation. Thus, its is being increasingly used by movie makers and advertising professionals.
