Six telecom equipment and component suppliers surprised the industry in early March by showcasing multiple 100G advances in two separate trials, one by AT&T and the other by Verizon. Teams of experts, long lead times, and large financial investments are needed to bring 100G products to market. Yet we find six vendors in apparent lockstep advancing end-to-end 100G solutions. Ovum expects multiple suppliers to have commercial versions of these solutions available in 2011.
