Affected by the financial turmoil, the total output of machine tool on the global basis suffered from a huge dive of 32% in 2009 compared to a year before. What’s more the import and export market of machine tool is also seriously challenged. With the relevant policies and fiscal support from the Government, the industry on the whole has maintained healthy and steady pace in development. The output in China in 2009 posted a 7.6% expansion, ranking for the first time No.1 in the world. In the midst of the downturn, Chinese machine tool enterprises have made remarkable achievements in self-innovation, structural adjustment as well as merger & acquisition. The export orientation displayed vast international marketplace for emerging domestic machine tool with potentials.
