This survey-based study covers video surveillance systems, access control systems, and intrusion detection systems as used in U.S. educational facilities. The overall research objective is to measure the need for physical security as perceived by facility / security managers in the education industry. Supporting this objective, the research also: - Determines why physical security is necessary in educational facilities - Measures the steps security decision makers are taking to manage / minimize risks to their facilities - Evaluates the security system technology selection process - Analyzes security technology manufactures and service providers in their effectiveness in helping to managing / minimizing risks
