Russian Market of Limestone Flour (Dolomite) (Russian Version)
IndexBox Marketing Ltd., March 2010, Pages: 52
The marketing research contains actual information about the market of limestone flour (dolomite) and the total numbers in 2009. The purpose of the market research is to describe the situation on the Russian market of limestone flour, to provide relevant information on the volume of production, exports, imports, consumption and market conditions, as well as of the changes that occurred in 2009.
Dolomite - carbonate rocks, consisting mainly of the same name of the mineral admixture with calcite, sometimes gypsum, anhydrite, iron oxide, and clay material. It contains physico-mechanical properties close to those of limestone. Structural and textural features are diverse. In pure dolomite contains 30.41% CaO 21.86% MgO and 47.73% CO2. Between the dolomite and limestone there is a continuous series of transitional carbonate rocks. Carbonate rocks with MgO content of more than 11% are attributed to dolomite. Dolomite powder - loose (to loose) carbonate rocks, having the form of flour or sand, consisting of grains of dolomite, is the product of loosening and selective leaching of dolomite in the weathering zone. In order to neutralize acidic soils used in limestone (dolomite) flour obtained refinement carbonate rocks or dropping their split in the production of crushed stone. Flour, depending on the strength of carbonate rocks (GOST 14050-93) is divided into four classes for grain structure into three types (A, B, C), the mass fraction of moisture Brand A is divided into two groups. Limestone flour is used as a mineral additive in feed and feed for farm animals and birds. Wheat compensates for the deficiency of calcium carbonate, which is essential for building bones, eggshells, beak and claws. Carbonate feeding improves the growth of animals and birds, increasing their weight gain and productivity. For these purposes are fit only malomagnezialny limestone, chalk and seashell, which are used in the form of limestone or chalk flour, powder and shell grit.
In the glass industry is used mainly dolomite and less limestone, marble and chalk. With dolomite in the glass batch entered the necessary alkaline earth oxides MgO and CaO, with limestone - the missing amount in it excess of CaO introduced with dolomite. In the manufacturing of glass is used pure homogeneous limestones and dolomites, with constant chemical composition and containing a minimum amount of impurities. It is especially hard-limited by the content of iron oxides, which are stained glass in green, brown, yellow and red tones. Production of limestone (dolomite) flour started to decline even before the economic crisis, the volume of production in 2007 was 95% compared to last year. In 2008 the recorded decline was of 30%. According to the Russian Statistics Agency, in kind was performed on 1161.6 thousand tons of limestone (dolomite) flour for liming acid soils. In 2009, the output fell even more (by 37% relative to 2008) and amounted to 735.4 thousand tons.
The major importing companies of limestone (dolomite) flour are: LLC “Kvoliti' , CJSC 'Gatchinsky Feed Mill” , LLC 'Balt-Biofuels' (-), CJSC 'Poultry Farm Roskar” , LLC “Agahim” . The major producers, supplying limestone (dolomite) flour for export are OJSC “Kavdolomit” , and LLC “League” .
