Sanitary ceramic products are characterized by relatively low diversity of forms. In this study was carried out an analysis of the following types of products: toilet bowls, sinks, toilet tanks, bidets, urinals. The vast majority of products on the Russian market are products of white color.
The share of domestic products in the domestic market was 84% in 2009. The share of imported goods amounted to 16%.
An upward trend of production of sanitary ceramic products developed in the last few years (growth rates in 2006 - 118%, 2007 - 113% in 2008 - 108%). Then, it was replaced by a slight decline in 2009 - production decreased by 3% relative to the previous year.
According to official statistics, the production of sanitary products in Russia is currently engaged in 16 enterprises.
According to forecasts, the growth in domestic production in the next 1-2 years will be about 105% per year. Large manufacturers are mostly fully done with the modernization of production and addressing the issues of real and perceived quality (brand) products.
The average cost of production of sanitary ceramic products in 2009 stood was 490 USD per unit. From January to September there was an increase in the cost of production in sanitary ceramic products, compared to the same period in 2008.
The main supplies of imported products of sanitary ceramics are carried out in countries such as Ukraine and China, having in mind the cheap cost of production. The largest volume of shipments of imported goods fell on the company CJSC “Slavutskii Factory "Budfarfor” ( "").
