Bien Ngoc Nguyen, July 2010, Pages: 71
Vietnam is a country, a developing and an ambitious one. There are many stories about this S-curve shape country in Southeast Asia. Most of the time Vietnam is known to the world thanks to Vietnam War. But Vietnam has many more to offer. The road to prosperity and advanced democracy is still ahead but it cannot be denied that there have been major changes during the past three decades which have made Vietnam become an attractive destination of tourists, investors, and businesses worldwide.
Southeast Asia, Indochina, or Vietnam is well-known as emerging markets. The publisher acknowledges the fact that every growth in the region and in Vietnam particularly is teamed up with chaos before the market itself moves to a performing stage. The publisher is in the opinion that it is worth risk taking for making investment or doing business in Vietnam. The report will show you later on a transformation of a country on the progress of going through decisive, fundamental changes. One would probably share with us that it is rewarding to select Vietnam in their discussion agenda.
The publisher starts by looking at the investment environment in Vietnam. The road to a market economy for Vietnam began in early 2000s as the controlling Communist Party and the government started the Renewal Process since 1986 - the greatest transformation of the country since the ’1975 reunification. WTO entry in 2007 let Vietnam further integrate into the world economy. The publisher examines both the investment environment in Vietnam which is applicable to overseas investors and the landscape of international investment conducted by Vietnamese enterprises recently. The report provides details on key macroeconomic indicators, trends of foreign investment in Vietnam, taxation issues, banking system, private equity, and corruption
Next, the report examines the regulatory and legal framework relevant to investment, especially foreign investment, in Vietnam. The report provides details on legal basis, forms of foreign investment, merger and acquisition, regulation and licensing in telecommunications, privatization and liberalization of the telecom market, and the new telecommunications law.
The report then takes a closer look at the ICT industry in Vietnam. The report provides deep analysis on major challenges and opportunities as well as every single aspect of the industry: from wireless communication including mobile communications and satellite communications to wireline communications consisting of fixed-line telephony, VolP, submarine cables, Internet and capacity services and to lT-related such as Internet Data Center, software, hardware, and digital contents. Profiles of major companies in the industry are also provided for further preference
The publisher tries to keep the report as short and as much informative as possible. They choose to be objective from an insider’s viewpoint. Although it is a market research, the publisher would like to share more than they could. The publisher composed with passion and careful research although statistically they are seeking more accuracy on the figures as public information is not available nor well organized and reliable.
