Indonesia Transportation provides an overview that includes air, land and water transportation in Indonesia. International passenger arrivals at Jakarta’s airport rose from 2.38mn passengers in 2003 to 3.75mn in 2009, representing a 57.56% growth in passengers within those corresponding years. On the other hand, international passenger arrivals at Bali’s airport shrank from 1.46mn passengers in 2001 to 1.09mn two years later but increased to 2.48mn in 2009.

On the railway transportation front, the number of passengers rose from a low of 150mn in 2004 to its peak at 194mn in 2008, indicating a 29.33% growth over those corresponding years. In terms of water transportation, International cargo that were loaded at the four main ports in Indonesia, namely Belawan, Tanjung Priok, Tanjung Perak and Ujungpandang were recorded at 3.36mn tonnes, 5.43 mn tonnes, 1.22mn tonnes and 0.71mn tonnes respectively in 2009.
