The company’s energy businesses include exploration, and production and storage of oil and gas, power generation, water desalination and gas transmission. The company categorizes its business operations into five reportable segments, namely, Power and Water Segment- UAE, Power Segment- Others, Oil and Gas segment- North America, Oil and Gas segment- the UK and Oil and Gas segment – Netherlands. The company, together with its subsidiaries, operates in Europe, North America, Asia and Middle East. TAQA is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Currently, the company focuses on expanding its asset portfolio in northern north sea as well as on the strategic investment in Middle East-North Africa region. Recently, it signed two farm-in agreements with a subsidiary of Fairfield Energy Limited (Fairfield) for oil and gas licenses in the UK North Sea. It also entered into conditional agreement to acquire North Sea assets from Premier Oil plc, under which TAQA will acquire a 16.6% per cent working interest in the Sterling-operated Cladhan. The company is looking forward to to expand its exploration portfolio to include high quality opportunities outside its existing core area. In addition, TAQA signed strategic investment agreement with WesternZagros Resources Ltd. This agreement reflect the company’s focus on developing the footprint in Middle East-North Africa region.
