The second section discusses less well-known and more recent diabetic models, such as the BB rat, the NOD mouse and Zucker and Zucker Diabetic Fatty rat models.
Genetic models of insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) are examined and compared to chemically induced IDDM models.
