The volume of imports of wheat and wheat-rye flour in Russia in 2009 amounted to 5,703.77 tons, totaling 2.61 million USD. The volume of imports of flour from other grains (rye, corn, barley, oats, rice, etc.) is 5,598.38 tons, amounting to 3.21 million USD.
Among the major retail chains in Russia is the undisputed leader 'X5 Retail Group” with sales in 2008 equaling to 8,892 million USD. In the structure of 'X5 Retail Group” are represented all the major types of shops: “Pyaterochka” - discounter, 'Perekrestok' , 'Paterson” - supermarket, 'Carousel' - hypermarket.
