In October 2009, RMR (a division of “IndexBox”) carried out a marketing research on the metal decking lattice market. The research object was the perspective sector of the metal construction industry - metal decking lattice.
The aim of the research is to analyze the state of the market of metal decking lattice in the crisis period and to build a forecast of the development of the sector in the medium term.
The modern construction industry has high requirements to construction elements of buildings and structures. The products must be durable, reliable, inexpensive and relatively light. That is why now in industrial engineering and architecture the use of metal decking lattice from cellular lattice is increasing.
Initially, this material was used mainly in heavy and chemical industries for the organization transitions, elevated above the floor areas and fences. Soon, however, cellular lattices have been used everywhere. Decking lattice has been successfully used in all areas of industrial and civil construction, chemical and oil industry, energy and shipbuilding enterprises on processing of minerals, agriculture and road transport construction, creating bridges, flyovers, industrial platforms for services, fire escapes and other steel constructions for various purposes.
Today in Russia decking lattices are offered by some XXX companies. For not all of them, providing decking lattice is the main activity. For many organizations, sale of lattice is only an addition to the principal activity of the company.
The high cost of equipment for the production of lattice, is the cause of a small number of producers abroad. The lattice production is mostly widespread in Europe. There are two standards of lattice production - European and Australian. The European standard is called Din. This standard is widely spread in Russia. Among the European manufacturers in Russia, the most common products come from German enterprises.
In Russia, there have been many attempts to establish lattice production. This process has been going on for the past 15 years. Now, the officially known companies are only XXXX, located in XXX, who run test batches in the summers. Currently the plant operates with XXX power. By the end of 2009, total production of the expectations will be XXX tons, which will form no more than XXX on the size of the market.
