It is the principal organization that administers the power sector in the country. It imports electricity from these countries to meet Iraq's excess electricity demand. Electricity of Iraq is also planning to link its electricity network with its neighboring countries and through the Arab Electricity Grids Interconnection Projects. Recently, the ministry entered into an agreement with Turkey to receive 200 MW electricity in 2011 summer. Electricity of Iraq is headquartered in Baghdad, Iraq.
