In-Stat/MDR, Aug 2010, Pages: 3
The Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem (DECE), a consortium of major device manufacturers, retailers, content producers, and service providers, will be launching the UltraViolet digital rights locker platform next year. If successful, UltraViolet will change the way consumers acquire, manage and view their favorite movies and other video content. Yet, UltraViolet has many hurdles to overcome.
This In-Stat Analysis provides a brief description of the UltraViolet locker and how its functionality will be incorporated into many online video stores and services. It also outlines the major challenges the initiative faces in order to win over the digital entertainment industry, as well as, and the consumer mass market.
