This research report presents shipment volume and value forecast and recent quarter review of the greater Chinese notebook PC industry. The report includes shipment volume and value, ASP, manufacturer volume ranking, shipment by tier, shipment by maker, and shipment by price point, and product mix analysis. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with notebook PC makers. The report finds that the greater Chinese notebook PC industry saw lackluster shipment performance in April and May 2010 affected by the financial turmoil in Europe. The overall second-quarter shipment volume, however, was upheld by advanced shipments in June anticipating the back-to-school demand. Due to the growth of shipments by sea freight in the second quarter as well as negative factors seen in some regional markets, it is expected that the greater Chinese notebook PC industry will see different growth patterns in the third quarter of 2010.
