Future Cloud Computing Trends as Seen in HP-Dell Bidding War for 3PAR

Dell announced on August 16, 2010 that the company planned to purchase cloud computing storage provider 3PAR for US$1.15 billion. On August 23, HP proposed to acquire 3PAR at a 33.3% premium above the price offered by Dell, reaching a total of approximately US$1.6 billion. On August 26, HP announced that 3PAR had agreed to the transaction, and HP would pay 3PAR US$1.5 billion for acquiring the company.
