Practical Roadmap to Public Listing
Frontier Securities, Aug 2010, Pages: 16
Public listing will offer many great benefits to Mongolian companies, which include new channels of fund raising for the company and shareholders, staff rewarding scheme, brand and corporate image, enhancement of shareholder value, reduced borrowing costs and corporate governance and succession plan. Along with great benefits public listing does carry several cons. The listed company will have to disclose operational and financial information, business strategies and plans. As a result of disclosure, the company will face pressure from customers, competitors, governmental authorities, employees and suppliers.
Choosing the right market:
It is essential for companies to choose the right market and successfully raise funds. The potential firm should focus on six criteria to decide the appropriate market. Doing research on listing requirements will clearly show differences of the stock exchanges. In addition, the company should look for the right type of market with the appropriate investor base and trading volume as well as subsequent fund raising after IPO. Different markets will have different listing costs, hence the expense of the process should be contrasted against each other and is another key factor to choosing the right market.
