The world is going mobile with smartphones becoming popular in terms of venturing online while out of the house causing people to drift away from television. Globally, 11% of online consumers watched some video or mobile TV on their phone in March 2010. India occupies 4th position in terms of mobile video consumption (without 3G), the top 3 being Philipines, Indonesia and China. Mobile-video penetration is 0.6% in India compared to 5.8% in China.
