Walpole Research, Nov 2010, Pages: 44
The ash cloud triggered by the eruption of the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajokull through April and May of 2010 led to the cancellation of a significant proportion of European Air flights.
Much has been written both in the popular press and in academic papers about the ensuing travel chaos, the macro economic consequences and the severe damage to the Aviation/Travel and Tourism industries during this period.
However, reporting and analyses of the Ash Cloud’s impact on supply chains has for the most part been limited. The analyst surveyed 250 executives Worldwide to understand the business impact of the ash cloud and determine key trends with a view to learning from the disruption that ensued.
