Enterprise Management Associates, Nov 2010, Pages: 3
On October 5, 2010, BMC announced its acquisition of Neptuny, headquartered in Milan, Italy.
Neptuny offers a unique combination of data gathering, analytic and visualization capabilities as well as in-depth consulting capabilities. Its 2000 customer base is centered in EMEA with a growing reach in North America, with unique strengths among communication service providers and telecommunications, as well as cross-vertical support for environments with large, complex and typically hybrid infrastructures. Neptunyís lead offering, Caplan, can be delivered both as on-premise software, and as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering. As per the acquisition agreement, Neptunyís senior executive management and its Caplan software will join BMC, while its consulting arm will remain independent under the name ìMoviriî as a partner to BMC.
The acquisition complements BMCís capacity management solutions for distributed and mainframe environments with rich capabilities for modeling and application planning and analytics anchored in Atrium.
