Private vs. Public Cloud: Size Matters

Most IT infrastructures and information systems strategies are governed by the size of the enterprise or government unit. Recent research shows that plans for adoption of private clouds versus public clouds follows this trend. This Strategic Perspective offers insights into how, despite similarities in perceived benefits and concerns, size, as measured by employee population, matters when it comes to plans for deployment of cloud-based workloads. In addition, we offer some specific actions for Cloud providers and for customers for enabling more informed decisions about selection of Private versus Public Clouds.
