The most common form of arthritis, Osteoarthritis is known to have many underlying causes and can present in a variety of ways, and with a range of symptoms. The greater part of the Atlas is configured as a comprehensive catalogue of these presenting signs and documents the progression of disease as it is manifested in each of the principal joints. In each case, examination findings are reviewed, and differential diagnoses listed (along with the criteria by which they may be excluded).
The final part of the book presents a detailed summary of current treatment options, including both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, and surgery.
