The report combines the current development status of China's offshore wind power to study China's offshore wind energy prospects and obstacles which the country may encounter in the future. At the beginning of the report, the publisher compares onshore and offshore wind energy and makes a statistic of offshore wind turbine R&D and interprets many technical problems one by one.

The second Chapter of the report includes statistics of countries offshore wind farm installed capacity, Wind turbine model and online time, as well as statistics of proposed offshore wind farms in the world.

Finally, the publisher creates a feasibility analysis of new offshore wind farm projects, including a technical and economic feasibility analysis. Objective parameters are adopted in the analysis which can be referred by offshore wind farm project investors. China is rich in offshore wind resources, by far, Development and Reform Commission of China has taken Donghai Bridge offshore wind power project as a pilot operation and get some successful experience. However, there are many technical difficulties to develop offshore wind energy. The publisher still believes China will make great progress in offshore wind energy projects in the future as the onshore wind energy.

On 22 January 2010, the State Energy Administration (the 'SEA') and the State Oceanic Administration (the 'SOA') jointly issued the Interim Measures on the Administration of Development and Construction of Offshore Wind Energy. The publisher believes the 'Measures' will promote the health and sustainable development of offshore wind power in 2010. China's government has approved more than 20 offshore wind farm projects in Shanghai, Jiangsu and Shandong Province. These new offshore projects will help build China's local offshore wind energy industry chain.

This report is an in-depth research report on Global and China Offshore Wind Farm operations.
