The 2005-2014 Outlook for the Water Heater Market in the CIS (Russian Version)

According to this report, in 2009 sales of household water heaters in the CIS totaled 5.79 million units, having decreased by 11.9% from 2008. In 2010-2011 the sales will continue going down, because the consequences of the economic crisis will not yet be overcome, and it will take a long time for the economy to revive. Since 2012 the sales volume will be growing by 2.2-5.3% a year, and by 2014 they will have amounted 6.1 million units. The sales will make up for the deferred demand.
The major part of the sales volume fell on Russia, the share of which varied between 54.3% and 69.6% of the total sales in 2005-2009.
In 2009 manufacture of household water heaters in the CIS countries equaled 1.46 million units. In 2010-2014 it will be increasing by 3.0-7.3% and will reach the total of 1.81 million units.
The CIS countries do not fully meet the need for water heaters. In 2005-2008 the imported produce took up 74.6-84.8% of the total volume of sales. In 2010-2014 the share of the imported appliances in the CIS water heater market will increase again, because the rates of growth of internal manufacture will lag behind the dynamics of demand for water heaters.
