Journal of New Communications Research Volume I Issue 1
Society for New Communications Research, Oct 2006, Pages: 139
The Journal of New Communications Research (JNCR) is a publication of the Society for New Communications Research, a nonprofit global think tank dedicated to the advanced study of new media and emerging modes of communication and their effect on media, business and society. The JNCR is a peer-reviewed professional journal, published twice annually.
The journal features original empirical research and papers focusing on the theory, strategy and tactical use of participatory communications tools.
The JNCR is unique among professional journals, as it is not only distributed as a print publication, accompanied by an electronic (.PDF) version, but is also available as a wiki to allow for collaboration and updates.
This inaugural issue of the JNCR features many contributions that support this underlying ideal, and includes ten papers by both academics and professionals from six countries, focusing on topics ranging from virtual communities to corporate and academic blogging best practices, seniors' use of social media in Chile, new media adoption by the corporate sector of Japan, the role of social media in internal corporate communications and the changing role of the public relations profession.
