Clothing in Mexico
Euromonitor International, Oct 2009, Pages: 31
The general increase in inflation rates in the second half of 2008 affected the market performance; in this sense the market grew at a smaller rate in terms of both value and volume. The number of absolute units sold remained almost the same; the number of new per capita units purchased fell from 9.01 in 2007 to 8.98 in 2008. This decline is also explained by the decrease in the low consumer confidence index - consumers are resisting purchasing items that are not considered a necessity.
