In 2010, the Seven Network’s wireless internet division launched Australia’s first 4G wireless broadband network under the vividwireless name. vividwireless’ operations in Perth have a coverage of more that 90% of the population area. vividwireless aims to sell its product in Sydney and Melbourne under the brand name Unwired, while the 4G network in Perth is to be known as vividwireless. When the 4G service rolls out in other areas it will do so under the vividwireless brand offering a structure not dissimilar to Telstra Mobile’s offering of Next G. Seven appears to be strengthening its digital media platform by connecting broadband users to the internet and its services. Attracting users to its services also includes unlimited metered usage from the TiVo service by vividwireless users. The Australian wireless broadband market has grown 162% over the last year and vividwireless aims to tap into the mobile computing and broadband market in commercial premises and residences.
