TelstraClear is New Zealand’s second-largest full-service telecommunications company, providing products and services to the business, government, wholesale and residential sectors. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Telstra, the largest telco in Australia. In the New Zealand market, TelstraClear provides a full range of:
Voice and data products; Broadband internet; Mobile services; Managed services; and Digital cable TV products and services.The company also has triple play services and the T-Box with PVR and IPTV over its HFC cable networks in the Wellington, Kapiti and Christchurch areas. A VoIP interconnection agreement in place with WorldxChange Communications. TelstraClear has not participated directly in the UFB/RBI selection process but instead works in partnership with participating companies. The company’s fibre assets will allow it to extend its network as a backbone to sell voice data, broadband and other types of bundles of products and services. The company has been voicing concerns about the regulatory setup of the UFB.
